CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Two suspects who may be responsible for a string of armed robberies across the Valley are now in custody, according to Chandler police. The men were arrested Friday during a traffic stop in the east Valley, just miles away from the latest hold-up.According to Chandler police, two armed men stormed into a Little Caesars restaurant and demanded money at about noon Friday. The gunmen ran out, and Little Caesars owner Ed Navari said two of his employees ran after them."This is not the time to reprimand them, but the biggest mistake you could make is to chase after a guy with a gun," said Navari. "You shouldn't put yourself at risk."Chandler police said the store manager and another co-worker chased the armed robbers around the corner. Then suddenly, one of the gunmen looked back and started shooting, grazing the manager in the face .The other employee just missed getting hit.The employees then used a magazine rack to smash the front windshield of the robbers' car, as they drove off."We never encourage somebody to go after a robber like this," said Sgt. Joe Favazzo with the Chandler Police Department. "They are armed. It's money and property -- not something worth losing your life."The suspect's were arrested in a vehicle that matched the description of the car that left the Little Caesars parking lot.
