U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers stopped a drug smuggling attempt when they found nearly 110 pounds of marijuana that had been concealed inside the doors and panels of a vehicle at the Douglas Port of Entry.

According to a release, the officers were screening travelers and vehicles when a 1999 Ford Explorer driven by 45-year-old Agua Prieta, a Mexican National from Sonora, Mexico, was selected for inspection. With the help of a Narcotics Detection K-9 Team, officers found large quantities of marijuana hidden in tightly-packed bundles inside the doors of the SUV.

Officials said the estimated street value of the confiscated drugs is $176,000.
