UPDATED: 4:26 pm MST December 4, 2009

Sheriff's deputies in Mohave County said they arrested a man wanted in connection with an armed bank robbery Thursday.

Deputies said Victor J. Malaro, 41, of Golden Valley, was arrested and charged with felony armed robbery with a deadly weapon. Malaro was also charged with a failure to appear felony warrant issued by Mohave County Superior Court, and a fugitive from justice felony warrant issued out of the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said a combined manhunt for Malaro was launched by the Mohave County Sheriff, the Kingman Police Department, the Arizona Department of Public Safety and other law enforcement teams, after the bank robbery in the Kingman city limits.

Deputies said they located Malaro hiding in a wash along the 1200 block of Beale Street, where he was taken into custody without incident. A search of Malaro revealed $18,000 in cash and a derringer pistol, according to a police report.

After his arrest, Malaro was transported to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office where he was interviewed. Deputies said during conversations with Malaro, he admitted to committing an armed robbery on Oct. 16, at the National Bank of Arizona in Golden Valley.

Malaro was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.

Deputies said Kari Lyn Santa Rosa, 21, and Tabitha Faye Bailey, 35, both of Golden Valley, were also arrested regarding the investigations of robberies involving Malaro.

Santa Rosa was charged with hindering prosecution and carrying concealed weapon without a permit -- both felonies. Bailey was charged with filing a false report to law enforcement -- a misdemeanor.

Deputies said further charges may be pending against Malaro in connection with an armed robbery and the shooting of a store clerk at a King Tut’s store in the 6700 block of Highway 68 in Golden Valley, that occurred on Nov. 11.
