PHOENIX -- The Arizona Department Of Public Safety arrested a man who it said pointed a handheld laser at a police helicopter involved in a robbery pursuit.In a news release Friday, authorities said 36-year-old Clint Brenna, of Prescott, was arrested and charged with two counts of felony endangerment. He was booked into the Yavapai County Jail.According to a police report, the incident occurred Wednesday at about 11:30 p.m. Officials said an Arizona DPS Air Rescue helicopter was assisting the Prescott Police Department with a search for two armed robbery suspects in Prescott, Ariz.Authorities said during the search, the crew of the Kingman based DPS Air Rescue helicopter was "lased" by someone in a residential neighborhood.Police said Brenna is accused of directly pointed a laser at the aircraft and crew an estimated 15 to 20 times, drastically affected the nighttime visibility of the crew.Investigators said at one point the laser was directly in the eyes of the pilot endangering the crew and aircraft. The pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft.Authorities said the crew was able to direct Prescott police officers to the location of the suspect.
