MESA, Ariz. -- A family in Mesa said their loved one who disappeared Saturday afternoon during a shopping trip with his wife has been found safe.

Alan Nelson, 75, was located at a QuikTrip along McKellips and Scottsdale roads at about 12:30 a.m.

Nelson had gone shopping with his wife, Diana, on Saturday. Diana Nelson ran inside a store, leaving her husband, who is mentally ill and suffers Alzheimer's, in the car.

When she came out, the car and her husband were gone.
