PHOENIX -- Some north Phoenix residents got quite a wake-up call after a pickup drove right into their house Friday night. But it's what happened afterward that has people scratching their heads.

Police said the driver of the vehicle that slammed into the house near 35th Avenue and Pinnacle Peak Road remains in the hospital. Officers said they are not sure what caused him to lose control of the truck.

“We heard like a loud explosion and I thought something had happened in the house,” said neighbor Barry Reppert.

Reppert and his family went outside and discovered it was his neighbor’s house that had been damaged.

“I saw the water at my neighbor's house spraying up in the air and I thought the water main line was broken,” Reppert said.

But on closer inspection, the family found it was not a water main break.

“I looked and saw that big hole in the wall and I saw the truck,” he said. “It was dark but I could see a pickup truck was inside the house.”

The driver was bloodied and naked.

“His arms, his head, his legs, I mean he had blood all over,” Reppert said.

Reppert’s daughter ran inside to get the driver a towel to not only cover him up but to stop the blood.

But from there, Reppert said things got even crazier. The driver climbed out of the vehicle.

"He jumped out the window and he was butt naked," Reppert said.

He then ran toward Reppert’s house and his daughter.

“She thought he was going try and get in,” Reppert said. “My daughter was trying to hold that door shut and that's when he assaulted her.”

"He started punching me and hitting me and stuff and grabbing my clothes," said Brittany Reppert. "He started grabbing at my shirt and trying to lift it up over my head and like trying to pull my jeans down."

Brittany Reppert's boyfriend wrestled the driver off her but the weirdness continued from there.

“He was standing in front of everybody masturbating,” Reppert said.

By this time, police were called and the naked driver took off on foot, only to be caught a short time later.

“There’s a lot of blood and stuff on our front door,” Reppert said. “There's a trail of blood from their house over to our house.”

Police said they are trying to figure out why all of the mayhem occurred. They have not been able to question or learn the identity of the driver since he is still hospitalized.
