H1N1 Vaccination Clinics On Tap Saturday

POSTED: 5:28 pm MST November 13, 2009
UPDATED: 5:45 pm MST November 13, 2009

H1N1 vaccinations will be available Saturday at Cigna Medical Group locations in the east and west Valley and central Phoenix. The vaccines are available as an injection or nasal mist for $18.

Like most states, Arizona is experiencing "widespread" flu activity, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. While there is no guaranteed method to prevent the flu, receiving a vaccination and taking some simple precautions can reduce the risks.

Doses will be prioritized for the following at-risk groups:

  • Pregnant women.

  • People who live with or care for children under 6 months old.

  • Those between ages 6 months to 24 years old.

  • Those between ages 25-64 who have chronic health disorders or compromised immune systems.

Vaccines are available at these locations:

Cigna Medical Group - Chandler Health Care Center
1717 W. Chandler Blvd.
Chandler
480-821-7565
8 a.m. to Noon

Cigna Medical Group - Paseo Multi-Specialty Center
5891 W. Eugie Ave.
Glendale
602-588-6600
8 a.m. to Noon

Cigna Medical Group - Westridge Medical Office
2302 N. 75th Ave.
Phoenix
623-849-7500
8 a.m. to Noon

Cigna Medical Group - South Mountain Medical Office
7236 S. Central Ave.
Phoenix
602-276-5565
1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

This cost is a covered benefit for most CIGNA health plan members and those with other insurance carriers can be billed. Cash, credit or debit card, or personal checks are also accepted.

Patients are asked to download a consent form online at www.cigna.com/cmgaz/H1N1.html and to bring the completed form with them.

The H1N1 vaccine is also available daily at all eight Cigna Medical Group CareToday locations without appointment.

For additional information, call Cigna Medical Group's flu hotline: 602-906-2750 about west Valley and central locations or call 480-345-5355 in the East Valley.
