PHOENIX -- Scottsdale police arrested three people earlier this week on suspicion of stealing furniture and appliances from foreclosed homes in the Valley. After receiving a tip, officers spent nearly two weeks secretly watching Dylan Jones, Alyssa Boertman and Sondra Moser, Scottsdale Police Department spokesman Dave Pubins said.Police said they arrested the trio after watching them haul an armoire from a $500,000 foreclosed home."(The trio's) intention was to go back and burglarize the home for appliances," Pubins said.According to Pubins, the trio would first "stage" a vacant home, searching for an unlocked window or prying open a door."They would leave and come back at a later time," Pubins said. "Now that the back window was left ajar for them, they would then go in."Police said Jones, Boertman and Moser robbed at least nine homes -- two in Phoenix, one in Paradise Valley and six in Scottsdale -- and investigators said more were probably targeted.Inside the trio's home in north Phoenix, police found stolen appliances and a handwritten log listing the burglaries.Neighbors said they wondered about all the activity surrounding the house."For the last three weeks, (we've seen) a lot of moving trucks -- like two to three trucks every day," said neighbor Deloera Baudelio.Police said the suspects would sell the stolen articles on the Internet and in pawn shops. All three were charged with burglary.
