EL MIRAGE, Ariz. -- A group of Valley burglars may have made the mistake that lands them in jail, but police need help to find them. It's been five months since the thieves broke into an El Mirage home. The homeowner said, "They just took everything they possibly could, like they were shopping at a department store."It was a trip that left the home $40,000 lighter, with a laundry list of valuables missing. The homeowner asked to remain anonymous because the crooks stole four of her husband's guns. She said, "The scariest part is going to bed at night, knowing that these people have that .357 Magnum with ammunition."The break-in happened when the pair went out of town for a few weeks back in June.El Mirage Assistant Chief Bill Louis said, "(The burglars) apparently spent a considerable amount of time in the house, because it looked like they'd gone through the whole house."But one item that made its way into the burglars bag may be the one that lands them behind bars.CBS 5 News obtained surveillance video from a Surprise Home Depot. It shows a group of five young people making a big purchase.Police said it's the people who broke into that El Mirage home, and they used the owner's Home Depot credit card for the purchase.Anyone with information on the home invasion is asked to call the El Mirage Police Department.
