PHOENIX -- Police are searching for a man who tried to steal Oxycontin from a Scottsdale Albertson's pharmacy Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

The man handed the clerk a note demanding the drugs, and when the clerk told him she didn't have access to it, he fled, police said.

An employee followed him out of the store and saw him get in the passenger seat of a newer model silver Chrysler 300, police said.

Police described the would-be robber as a white man in his 20s standing 5 feet 8 inches with a thin build and short, dark hair.
