GLENDALE, Ariz. -- A mentally challenged Glendale teen who went missing Friday returned home safely on Sunday, her foster dad said.

Shawna Wood, 19, was supposed to take a quick trip to Metro Center Mall Friday afternoon and then head home. But she never made it back.

Johnson said Wood came home from school with a friend and went to the shopping center with a friend. The mall is only a couple of blocks from their home.

Johnson was especially concerned because she has the mental capacity of an 8-year-old.

"She could hold a conversation with you and talk to you and you'd think she was a nice kid but if you tried to help her read instructions or understand directions, she'd have a hard time with that," Johnson said.
