Border Patrol Catches Pot-Laden Horses

Marijuana's Estimated Street Value $775K+

Drug smugglers are now using horses to carry loads of marijuana across the border, authorities said.

According to a news release on the Border Patrol's Web site, agents seized at least two horses carrying a total of 971 pounds of marijuana near Sonoita, Ariz.

The marijuana has an estimated street value of $776,800, authorities said.

The smugglers using the horses fled and avoided arrest, according to the Border Patrol.

Agents said the horses and marijuana were held for further processing.
