A man accused of entering a woman's home when she was out early Friday helped himself to some treats before falling asleep on the couch, Mesa police said.

Mesa police arrested Tommy Reece Jr. and booked him on a charge of burglary.

The homeowner, who returned at about 6:45 a.m., discovered several doors open and found Reese sound asleep on the couch, officers said.

The woman said when she entered the kitchen, she discovered the treats on the counter and several cabinet doors open, according to police.

Officers said Reece also rummaged through dresser drawers. No money or personal belongings were missing, investigators said.

Police said Reese told them he had been drinking and entered the wrong house by mistake.
