UPDATED: 5:49 pm MST August 27, 2009

A confrontation at a restaurant ended with one arrest and five wrecked cars Wednesday evening, authorities said.

According to a report posted on the Scottsdale Police Department's Web site, officers arrived at the Jade Palace restaurant on Shea Boulevard and found Erin Bryant, 31, in his pickup truck.

When officers approached the driver's window, Bryant began to back up and rammed into another officer's patrol car, which struck two other vehicles in the parking lot, police said.

Bryant reversed direction and drove onto the hood of a second police car, and a third police vehicle -- a full-size SUV -- pinned Bryant's truck against the other cars, police said.

Officers tried to talk to Bryant again, but he physically resisted arrested and they deployed a Taser stun gun, police said.

Police said nobody was hurt during the incident; however, three police and two civilian vehicles sustained thousands of dollars of damage.

Bryant was arrested on charges of misdemeanor assault, felony assault, misdemeanor threatening, misdemeanor disorderly conduct, driving under the influence, aggravated DUI, felony endangerment and driving with a suspended license.
