PHOENIX -- Sen. John McCain will hold a central Valley town hall Wednesday evening to discuss proposed health care reforms with Arizonans. McCain held a town hall Tuesday in Sun City, where most of the 1,400-plus attendees were retirees concerned about changes in Medicare and their insurance coverage.Wednesday's meeting may shape up to be a bit different because when McCain arrives, he will be greeted by anti-war protesters. Protest group End the War said it will be waiting outside the town hall with signs calling for the U.S.'s withdrawal from Afghanistan.Group spokesman Mitch Rubin said that McCain has "jumped on board the president's strategy of seemingly endless escalation in Afghanistan, calling for even more troops to be sent to the nation."Group members said they will paint their hands red to illustrate how much blood they believe McCain has on his hands. They will also have boots representing the 17 Arizonans who have been killed in Afghanistan since the war began.Rubin said the money allocated toward war efforts would be better spent on health care funding for all Americans.Wednesday's town hall will be held at North Phoenix Baptist Church on Central Ave. at 5:30 pm.
