UPDATED: 7:51 pm MST July 9, 2009

A man suspected of drunken driving had an initial blood alcohol level that was five times the legal limit, Scottsdale police said.

Official blood results for Doran Sears, 37, were still pending, according to Officer Dave Pubins of the Scottsdale Police Department.

Pubins said they stopped Sears near 68th and Main steets early Wednesday afternoon.

It is illegal in Arizona to have a BAC of 0.08 percent or greater while driving a vehicle.
