PHOENIX -- The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office arrested a man Monday after two motorists flagged down a deputy and explained they had been run off the road by someone driving a black Ford truck. The deputy located the vehicle on Cornville Road and identified the driver as John Petrosky, sheriff's office spokesman Dwight D'Evelyn said.Petrosky, 50, admitted passing cars on Beaverhead Flat Road but claimed it had been safe to do so, D'Evelyn said.Petrosky was arrested on suspicion of driving with a suspended license, D'Evelyn said. One of the motorists, a 49-year-old woman from Clarkdale, said Petrosky ran her off the road, and she provided details about Petrosky's driving behavior, D'Evelyn said. The driver recalled the Ford truck forcing her and another motorist off the road as it passed at a high speed on the roadway's double yellow line, D'Evelyn said. She added that as the Ford was passing her vehicle, a van containing children passengers and going in the opposite direction was forced to the side of the road to avoid a head-on collision.D'Evelyn said Petrosky was uncooperative throughout the investigation and threatened deputies during his arrest, transportation and booking at the Camp Verde Detention Center.Petrosky remains in custody on $250,000 bond.Deputies would like to locate the driver of a blue mini-van described by the witness as having to leave the roadway to avoid a collision with Petrosky's truck and are encouraging that person to contact the sheriff's office immediately.
