PHOENIX -- A man was found in a grassy field early Thursday morning, authorities said.

Officers discovered the man had a head wound, which was most likely caused by an altercation between the victim and three other people.

They were driving a white four-door passenger vehicle, said police.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

Officers received a second call about a dead body in the same area, according to authorities. Police haven't ruled out that the two incidents could possibly be related.

The investigation of both incidents is ongoing, said police.
