A Scottsdale girl scout troop is out $8,000 after a troop leader allegedly embezzled the funds.

Trisha Proud, 29, of Phoenix, was booked into jail on one count of theft.

Police say the money went missing last spring and several parents reported the theft to police last month.

"She had access to the account and had utilized ATM cards and also written checks off the account," said officer Dave Pubins of the Scottsdale Police Department.

Troop 534 was saving the money to take a trip to Disneyland.

Police said there may be one other person involved in the theft.
