PHOENIX -- A toddler who was hospitalized on June 6 after suffering multiple skull fractures has died, according to a statement from the Chandler Police Department.The 2 1/2-year-old succumbed to her injuries Thursday, police said.Jeremiahs Aguilar, 21, was arrested and charged with felony child abuse soon after the child was hospitalized. The child's mother, Josefa Talavera, 20, was arrested June 10 on a charge of failure to protect a child, police said.The case is being reviewed for additional charges, police said.Talavara, 20, originally dialed 911 and told dispatchers her child was unresponsive, said Sgt. Joe Favazzo of the Chandler Police Department shortly after the incident.Police and fire personnel arrived in the 200 block of North Fresno Street. The toddler was rushed to an area hospital and later airlifted to a trauma center, Favazzo said.
