U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in Douglas, Ariz., discovered $50,000 worth of marijuana hidden inside a speaker box Monday, authorities said.

According to a news release from CBP, officers became suspicious of a 2000 Cadillac Catera driven by a 16-year-old boy from Douglas.

Officers searched the vehicle and discovered about 32 pounds of marijuana concealed in a large speaker box that filled the car's trunk, CBP said.

The car and marijuana were seized, and the teen was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement for further investigation, according to the release.
