PHOENIX -- The Phoenix high school teacher accused of having sex with a 17-year-old student said that he will fight the charges. In his initial court appearance Tuesday night, Tom Krepelka said he was shocked by the allegations.Krepelka, a science teacher at Shadow Mountain High School, was arrested on campus Tuesday and booked on felony counts of sexual contact with a minor and molestation of a child. The judge at Krepelka's initial appearance indicated that there was no probable cause for the molestation charge due to the age of the alleged victim. However, the judge stopped short of dismissing the charge.Krepelka's bond was set at $27,000. If he makes bond, he will have to wear an electronic monitor on his ankle until the case is settled.Meanwhile, parents at the school were concerned about the allegations."Not just only me, but any parent who sends kids to school, we know this is a second home for them, and we want them to be safe," said Dina Sayegh, who has two kids at the school.
