Police: 2 Men Attack Hip-Hop Mogul

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Police arrested two men in connection with an attack early Monday morning on hip hop entrepreneur Marion "Suge" Knight at a hotel on Camelback Road.A security detail at the W Hotel at 7277 E. Camelback Road called police at about 3:30 a.m. after they became concerned that there would be a fight between two groups of guests having heated words in the VIP area.When officers arrived, they said they watched a group of about six to eight guests exiting the VIP area.Police said they saw one person, later identified as Robert Carnes Jr., punch Knight in the head two times.Officers said they used Tasers to quell the fight.Officers arrested Carnes and Thomas Anderson and booked them into Scottsdale City Jail. Knight was transported to Scottsdale Healthcare-Osborn Hospital, where he was treated for facial injuries.Carnes told officers that he is the business manager for singer Akon.Anderson was booked on one count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Carnes is charged with one count of felony aggravated assault.Knight is co-founder and CEO of Death Row Records, which stagnated after Knight's incarceration on parole violation charges in September 1996.
