PHOENIX -- A middle school English teacher lured one of her 14-year-old students to a Valley hotel room Saturday for sex, Maricopa County sheriff's deputies said.Rosanna Brown, 49, was arrested and booked into Fourth Avenue Jail on three counts of sexual conduct with a minor. The investigation showed that Brown was text messaging the boy for days leading up to the sexual assault, said Deputy Lindsey Smith with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.Brown teaches at the Ed Pastor Elementary School in Phoenix."Brown lured the victim to the Best Western Hotel in Tempe by portraying herself as a sexually active teenager," Smith said.Brown checked into the hotel on Saturday and lured the boy to her room where the two had sexual relations, Smith said."Once the boy left the hotel room, he phoned his mother saying a woman he identified as his English teacher had sexually assaulted him," Smith said. The boy's mother convinced her son to allow her to accompany him back to the hotel room, Smith said. Once there, the victim's mother confronted Brown before calling the sheriff's office, Smith said.Deputies said the hotel staff told them that Brown rented a room for a one-night stay and was assigned a room on the first floor. She then returned to the desk and asked for a different room because the one she was assigned was not dark enough, the hotel staff told investigators.Brown has been a teacher for 28 years but has only tught seventh and eighth grade English at the Ed Pastor School since August, MCSO said.Sheriff's detectives are interviewing school employees and others to rule out the possibility of additional victims, Smith said.
