PHOENIX -- A former South Dakota prosecutor has been indicted for manslaughter in connection with a fatal stabbing in Tempe, the Maricopa County Attorney's office announced Thursday.

According to police, Daniel Ray Gukeisen, 37, stabbed Garrett Hohn, 22, after an early-morning argument in September; the victim and a friend had awakened Gukeisen.

Minutes later, Hohn was found stabbed, and he died at the hospital, police said.

Gukesian owns a law firm in Tempe that focused on bankruptcies.

The indictment was handed up Jan. 7.
