Police: Woman Fled Rapists At Gas Station

CHANDLER, Ariz. -- A woman claimed she was repeatedly raped before finally escaping at a Chandler gas station Thursday morning, police said.The woman and a group of friends had been partying into the early morning hours, officers said.The victim said she was raped several times at different locations, including the suspect’s car, investigators said.She told the clerk at a Shell car wash and gas station near Priest Drive and Ray Road that the men told her they would take her to work, police saidBut they stopped to get gas first, and that's when she went inside the store, officers said."They took off and took her cell phone," said Tammie Townsend, a clerk. "They apparently sexually assaulted her. They took her ID, money, everything. I called police and the police came by."Police are questioning the woman who said she knows the men who assaulted her.The person of interest police are searching for is described as a Hispanic man about 5 feet 2 inches tall. he was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black shorts, black and red sandals with black socks and a black cap with a red letter "C" on the front.The vehicle is described as a newer model Chevrolet Tahoe with no window tint.People with about the case should call the Chandler Police Department at 480-782-4130.
