PHOENIX -- An Arabian horse reunited with its owner late Monday afternoon after spending more than two days in the wild.Lucian Spataro was riding Masquerade, a gray Arabian stallion, in a competitive endurance race Saturday when the horse fell and ran off, leaving the injured rider behind.Spataro suffered internal injuries that required surgery."I didn't know my injuries until five or six miles later, so I was concerned (the horse) didn't recognize he was injured," he said. After two days' of searching failed to find the horse, Spataro offered a $10,000 reward."We were concerned today because he'd been out in the desert for two days without water," he said.Alex Dorst and his family were riding through the park when his stallion, Mr. Money Maker, sensed the other stallion and screamed. The group was able to ride up to the horse and catch it, Dorst said."That was totally unexpected," he said. "It's great."As for Masquerade, his owner plans to make sure the incident isn't repeated."He won't do this again," Spataro said. "We're going to have a GPS unit on him (so) he's never going to get lost again."The Dorsts plan to donate the $10,000 reward to a local horse rescue.
