Mesa police announced late Sunday night they have made an arrest after police say a driver hit and killed a man with a Hummer H2 following a fight at a club early Sunday morning.

The suspect, Jonathan Leigh Sosnowicz, 31, was being booked into jail Sunday evening.

A news release from Mesa police said Sosnowicz was booked on one count of second-degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault.

Witnesses told police the victim, Jereme Privitt, 25, was in a physical fight with Sosnowicz in the parking lot of the Salty Senorita in Mesa.

The Hummer and its occupants left the parking lot approximately 5 minutes after the fight, police said.

The Hummer then returned, flashed its headlights and accelerated directly and intentionally toward four victims, Mesa police said.

Two of the victims were able to jump out of the way, one victim was grazed in the arm by the Hummer, and the fourth victim was struck by the Hummer and thrown over the front end of the vehicle, causing his death, Mesa police said.

The Hummer drove away without stopping and a Gilbert police officer later spotted the Hummer driving to a Gilbert residence.

Around 4 a.m., Gilbert police said they received a call from Sosnowicz saying he woke up in his home and he and his roomate, Jason Jordan, thought they had been in a fight.

When officers arrived at the home, the couple told them they had been in a fight somewhere and didn't know what happened, police said.

A search warrant was later obtained and Mesa police said forensic evidence was located on the Hummer's front end.
