QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. -- Mold inspectors will go through every square foot of Walker Butte school in Queen Creek this weekend after a teacher noticed mold growing through the walls of a classroom. The school, only 7 years old, has already ripped out practically the entire wall that separates two different classrooms.School officials said there was a leak in a drainage pipe from the roof air conditioner and when inspectors started poking around, they found more mold all over the school, mostly behind baseboards.Tests show the air is still clean to breathe for the school's 1,300 students. But parents want to make sure the school fixes the problem."We have to be concerned not just for my kids, but for all kids and if it's not that bad, we have to not force the problem, but find out what's the solution," said Jesse Lightner, a parent.Repairs will cost the school about $75,000 or the equivalent of two teachers' salaries.
