Restaurant Will Reopen After Bombing

The owner of a north Scottsdale eatery is vowing to rebuild and reopen his business after someone bombed it Sunday evening.

Dickie's Dogs owner Dick Melone said he does not know who could be responsible for the potentially deadly act.

Melone was inside the restaurant when something exploded.

Melone suffered minor injuries, including a cut on his face from flying debris.

Authorities believe it was a pipe bomb that exploded in the front section of his shop.

The East Valley Tribune Web site reports the explosion sent debris into the ceiling, through a stainless steel wall and into an adjoining business.

Melone says he expects to reopen in 60 to 90 days and is thankful for the outpouring of support from customers who have called him to voice their concerns.

This is the second time the restaurant has been bombed in four years.
