Chandler H.S. Grads Star In Reality Show

POSTED: 6:31 am MST July 28, 2008

Thirty members of the Chandler High School class of 1988 are about to become stars in a TV reality show.

They were chosen as the subject of the upcoming season of TV Land's "High School Reunion."

The Chandler High School Class of 1988 sure knew how to party, one alum said.

"One of the cops back in the day told us we had to break the party up, but she gave us directions on where we could go and have a party and the cops wouldn't harass you," said Class of '88 alumnus Mario Moreno. "So we followed her up there. It was Price and Pecos."

He declined an offer to be on the show, but said he knows several people who accepted.

Moreno said the class was a fun group, many of whom still "hang out" with each other. That may be one reason why they were picked for the upcoming season of High School Reunion reality series, he said.

He said he suspected one person may take the opportunity to get even with a classmate.

"She got picked on," said Moreno. "Maybe she's going to confront him, or he's going to confront her."

Those who participated in the show recently returned to the Valley after two weeks of filming in Hawaii.

They are sworn to secrecy until the series airs early next year.

"They won't say anything," Moreno said. "All they would say is it was very interesting."

It may be hard to keep some of those secrets. Moreno said many of the other 500 members of the class are dying to know what happened.

He said work issues and setting up the real class reunion in September stopped him from going.
