Mexican Fugitive Arrested In Buckeye

PHOENIX -- A man accused of killing two Mexican police officers in 2005 was arrested Wednesday in Buckeye.Heraclio Guevara-Juarez, 31, was arrested three years ago in connection with a string of armed robberies of businesses in Zacatecas, Mexico.Guevara-Juarez escaped police custody by killing two officers and fled to the U.S., said Deputy Matt Hershey of the U.S. Marshals Service.Hershey said deputies determined Guevara-Juarez had assumed the identity of a relative living in Mexico and obtained work at a large dairy farm in Buckeye.
Guevara-Juarez was arrested at the farm Wednesday on suspicion of being in the country illegally. He voluntarily returned to Mexico and was turned over to Mexican authorities at the Nogales Port of Entry.Guevara-Juarez has been deported from the U.S. on six previous occasions.
