UPDATED: 4:40 pm MST May 21, 2008

A man held his teenage girlfriend and another man hostage in his home for almost four hours overnight, Phoenix police said.

The 17-year-old girl called 911 around 11:45 p.m. and said her boyfriend, Ronald Coleman, 26, was pointing a gun at her, according to police.

Officers set up a perimeter around the house and began negotiations with Coleman, who they said was holding his girlfriend and Jerry Taylor, 19, hostage with a rifle.

Around 3:30 a.m., officers entered the home and took Coleman into custody. He faces charges of kidnapping and aggravated assault.

Police said no one was hurt, though the girl was upset and taken to a hospital for precautionary reasons.

Investigators said they have not determined the relationship that Taylor has to Coleman or the 17-year-old girl.
