UPDATED: 12:23 pm MST May 20, 2008

An Arizona Department of Public Safety motorcycle officer was injured late Tuesday morning in an accident on Interstate 10 near State Route 51.

"The officer suffered minor injuries," said Bart Graves of DPS.

The officer's name was not immediately released.

Investigators said diesel spilled out of a pick-up truck that was leaking fuel from one of its containers.

The officer skid, lost control and crashed, DPS said.

A number of DPS officers rushed to the scene as the victim was whisked into an ambulance.
