10 Arrests Made As Patrols Sweep Through City

Ten arrests were made on Tuesday as Sheriff Joe Arpaio extended his saturation patrols to Fountain Hills.

During the seven-hour patrol, MCSO said deputies made seven traffic stops, resulting in 10 arrests and three felony warrants cleared.

Nicole Chapman, 32, was arrested on two felony drug warrants out of Scottsdale. Santiago Martinez-Gonzalez, 28, an illegal immigrant, was arrested on a felony drug warrant out of Phoenix, deputies said.

During the patrol, deputies said learned of a teenage girl who had been truant from school for two weeks and was possibly living in a drop house.

The Illegal Immigration Interdiction Unit went to the home to conduct a welfare check. The 15-year-old girl was located inside the home with her uncle and both were identified as illegal immigrants, MCSO said.

"My crime suppression efforts know no boundaries," Arpaio said. "My deputies enforce all laws throughout Maricopa County and have saturated a number of areas including Wickenburg, Cave Creek, Fountain Hills, and Queen Creek."

The saturation patrol will continue the operation in Fountain Hills on Wednesday.

"The city of Mesa saturation patrol is on track and will be announced at a later date," Arpaio said.
