PHOENIX -- A college professor under investigation after a 19-year-old student died at his home is accused of sexual misconduct in an unrelated case that dates back to 2002, a police report reveals.
Paradise Valley Community College psychology professor, 51-year-old Michael Todd, was allowed to continue teaching after the girl accused him of making sexual advancements six years ago.
The 2002 police report said Todd offered to counsel the student in his private office in Phoenix. During the session, the woman told investigators Todd engaged in sexual misconduct. The student said she told the school's Dean about the incident shortly after it happened, according to the police report. The school released a brief statement which said officials couldn't confirm or deny that the woman was telling the truth.Just two weeks ago, a college student, Andria Ziegler, 19, died at Todd’s north Phoenix condo.A cause of death has not yet been determined.Ziegler had been taking courses from Todd for the past two semesters. She was apparently spending the night at Todd's condo when she died, according to investigators.Police said they were not investigating Ziegler's death as a homicide and were not looking for suspects.Todd has been placed on paid administrative leave while PVCC officials investigate whether he broke school policies by having a relationship with a student.
