PHOENIX -- A man burglarized a Phoenix tanning salon as detectives watched him last Wednesday, Scottsdale police said.

Detectives said they watched Shawn Burns, 34, break a window of Atomic Tan, take a TV and flee in his vehicle.

The detectives said they had been watching Burns due to his suspected involvement in several burglaries in Scottsdale and surrounding cities.

Police said they arrested Burns at a nearby traffic stop.

The TV, along with items stolen in other burglaries, was found in Burns' possession, police said.

Police said they searched Burns' home and found more items from recent burglaries.

Burns was arrested on charges of burglary and credit card theft.
