Using special tracker dogs, a helicopter and Forest Patrol search teams, the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office said it found nothing to establish an explanation for a Chandler man's disappearance.

James Martinson, 37, was reported missing on Saturday. Martinson last spoke to his family on the telephone from Flagstaff in mid-March where he is employed, deputies said.

Martinson was expected to return to Chandler on March 21, sheriff's investigators said. Since the call, no one in the family has heard from Martinson or been able to determine his whereabouts, deputies said.

On Saturday, family members found his unoccupied car on the southbound Interstate 17 at the Stoneman Lake exit, according to deputies.

The vehicle, a dark-green Nissan Pathfinder with Arizona plates, contained some of Martinson's personal property, including his wallet and cell phone, deputies said.

Martinson is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall. He weighs 165 pounds, has green eyes, brown hair, and usually wears a watch with a black band and a wedding band that is set with four diamonds.

Martinson should have short hair and a light goatee. His common causal dress includes polo shirts, jeans and either tennis shoes or sandals.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office at 928-771-3260 or Yavapai Silent Witness at 800-932-3232.

Detectives from the YCSO Criminal Investigations Unit said they conducted a search of Martinson's vehicle Tuesday morning and found nothing that might explain his disappearance.
