TEMPE, Ariz. -- Police released a sketch on Monday of a man sought in connection with a stabbing outside a Tempe bar that left a security guard in critical condition.The 39-year-old security guard at La Pita Bar was stabbed by a man during a fight in front of the bar at 505 S. Mill Ave. around 9:10 p.m. on Friday, according to officers.The guard suffered stab wounds to the chest and arms, police said.The attacker fled the scene southbound on foot and could not be located, officers said.The man is described as black and in his early 20s. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has short, shaved black hair and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with a design over a red T-shirt, dark jeans and tennis shoes.Witnesses told police the attacker may have been accompanied by another man described only as having a dark complexion.Volunteers handed out flyers along Mill Avenue Monday evening hoping someone will come forward with information about the crime.People who witnessed the altercation or who have any knowledge leading to the identity of the attacker should contact the Tempe Police Department at 480-350-8311 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
