PHOENIX -- Some frightening moments unfolded Sunday for passengers and crew aboard a US Airways flight arriving from San Diego at Sky Harbor International Airport.The plane had hydraulic problems and when it touched down, airport officials said.Smoke could be seen shooting from the wheels.Hydraulic fluid also leaked out onto the runway, closing it briefly.
Crews spread a layer of sand, then fire trucks and a street sweeper were used to clean up the mess.Firefighters also used large fans to cool the brakes.Nobody was hurt and no flights were affected, airport officials said.The flight was a continuation to Pittsburgh. The connecting flight was canceled, according to US Airways.
