Toddler Found, Amber Alert Canceled

Authorities have found a 20-month-old boy after issuing an Amber Alert about 12 hours earlier.

Surprise police spokesman Sgt. Randy Rody said both the boy and his 15-year-old baby sitter are safe and well.

Rody said authorities found them Thursday in Avondale.

Authorities issued the alert for boy, Michael Wolfe, early Thursday morning. They said the 20-month-old was last seen Wednesday afternoon in the care of a baby sitter, Amanda Nicole Rainey.

Police were told that Amanda and Michael were seen getting into a pickup truck driven by a Hispanic woman about 4 p.m. at the boy's home.

Rainey was supposed to be taking the boy to a park, but she never returned, authorities said. The toddler's mother lives in the Philippines, police said.

According to police, the boy's father hired Rainey to baby sit after seeing her ad on Craig's list. She had been watching Wolfe since Monday, investigators said.

The toddler's father was questioned by Surprise police.
