GILBERT, Ariz. -- Federal agents raided an east Valley gun manufacturing warehouse and confiscated at least 1,000 firearms. The seizure took place at Cavalry Arms Corporation near Cooper and Guadalupe roads.ATF agents seized box after box of shoulder-fired rifles and hundreds of stocks, barrels and scopes in connection with an investigation into federal firearms violations at the facility."There's got to be something going on or they wouldn't be here," said Brandon Hepworth, who works nearby.
The ATF and the U.S. Attorney's Office refused to comment on why authorities served a search warrant at the warehouse. The owner of the company has not been arrested. Those who work nearby say they believe he is a reputable licensed gun dealer."He's a nice guy, friendly," Hepworth said. "I never asked him the particulars of what he was doing."Stacks of high-powered firearms were placed on tables for the media to view. It's still not clear if the nature of the investigation is as serious as the evidence implies.CBS 5 News tried reaching the owner of the company for comment to no avail.
