Dog Walker Finds Skull In Bucket

PHOENIX -- A person out walking on a dirt road in southwest Phoenix Saturday morning found a human skull in a bucket, police said.Sgt. Andy Hill said the bucket was found next to a large power pole alongside a cotton field near 79th Avenue and Roosevelt Street.The resident notified a police officer who secured the scene.Hill said detectives consider the case an obvious homicide.Officers believe the bucket was left there sometime after Wednesday morning.The Maricopa County medical examiner has taken possession of the remains for analysis, Hill said.Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.ELSEWHERE ON KPHO.COM: The body of a Michigan man believed to have fallen off the edge of the Grand Canyon has been recovered from approximately 300 feet below the rim at an undeveloped view point on the South Rim.
