Tatum was already on lifetime probation for child abuse for her role in the 2003 death of her 3-month-old baby, County Attorney Andrew Thomas said. Her then-boyfriend, 32-year-old Pedro Peralta, was sentenced to life in prison for shaking the baby to death. Tatum pleaded guilty to watching the abuse and failing to report it.She was released from prison in 2006 and was placed on lifetime probation, but a Child Protective Services representative told the East Valley Tribune there was no follow-up monitoring even though Tatum was an ex-convict with custody of her son.
