A former Douglas, Ariz., teacher wanted on child sex charges in Douglas dating back two decades was arrested Tuesday by police in Lexington, Ky., where he lives.

Kerry McJunkins was taken into custody at his home and released from jail after posting a $20,000 cash bond.

He was arrested on a Cochise County warrant for being a fugitive on a sexual assault charge.

McJunkins, 38, was a teacher at a Douglas private school in the 1980s when he allegedly assaulted two boys attending the school. He was 18 in 1987, when he allegedly began assaulting one of the boys, according to The Daily Dispatch in Douglas. The boy was 10 at the time.

The abuse continued for about four years, the newspaper reported.

Broadcast reports said police were tipped off to McJunkins' location by his alleged victims, who tracked him down in Kentucky.

McJunkins was working at a Lexington church, but church officials told Lexington news station WKYT that his role did not put him in contact with children.

One of the victims spoke to WKYT, saying he believes there are other victims afraid to come forward. Lexington police told the station they don't think there are any victims in Kentucky.
