MESA, Ariz. -- A Mesa businessman posted surveillance video from his store on YouTube in a bid to make the thief who stole from him "infamous."Robert Guertin said he installed surveillance cameras when he opened Big Sticks Fine Cigars because "it's not if you're going to get robbed, it's when you're going to get robbed."The cameras came in handy last week when Guertin's store was hit twice by the same shoplifter."They hit the wrong person," Guertin said.On Thursday, the thief stole a $725 Seico watch from a glass case next to the cigar wall. Surveillance video showed the man simply opening the case and lifting out the watch."Pretty brazen," Guertin said.Guertin used images from the surveillance video to print out fliers which he posted in the store, asking customers for help identifying the shoplifter. On Saturday, the thief came back.Guertin's surveillance cameras caught the man reaching into the same case, this time stealing a $1,195 watch. Before the man left the store, Guertin noticed the watch was missing. He grabbed a flier and approached the thief."I said, 'I have $1,000 bounty on his head.' I said, 'Do you know who he is?'" Guertin said. "He didn't know that I already saw there was another watch missing."Guertin said the man told him he had set the Seico watch on the counter on Thursday before leaving the store."I said, 'How'd you know it was a watch?'" Guertin said. "Chase was on."The man fled the store with the second watch. Guertin chased him to the parking lot, where he said the man got into a white 1970s model Chevrolet or GMC van with Arizona license plate 329-NFD.A customer suggested Guertin post the surveillance video on YouTube."My thief is getting his 15 minutes of fame, but, like on 'America's Most Wanted,' it's his 15 minutes of shame," Guertin said.Mesa police are investigating the thefts and said the YouTube postings are helping.Guertin is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the man's arrest. He said he doesn't expect to get the watches back; he just wants the thief off the streets. To view the YouTube videos, click here.ELSEWHERE ON KPHO.COM: A woman who doesn't want her breast milk to go to waste has taken out a newspaper ad in hopes of selling it.
