CHANDLER, Ariz. -- A Chandler junior high school teacher showed porn to a ninth-grade science class, his students said. The science teacher at Hendrix Junior High School near Dobson and Elliot roads left the classroom while his computer was connected to an overhead projector.Suddenly, students said, pornographic images began appearing on the projector."One kid started laughing, showed another, and then the whole class started laughing," said ninth-grader Brandon Meyer.News of the images spread quickly throughout the school."I heard about it at the end of third hour and it was around the entire school by fifth hour," Meyer said. The teacher was assigned to a non-classroom position while the school and Chandler police investigate the situation. The school sent a letter home with parents Tuesday explaining what had happened."As a parent, I'm concerned, but I'm not going to jump to conclusions. I'm not sure if this was a shared computer, that kind of thing," said parent Michael Zoemisch."If they find him guilty, he should be fired. No doubt about it," said parent Steve Taylor.A district spokeswoman said she was not aware of any prior complaints against the teacher."I did like him, and I still do. But, you know, I don't know. I have a whole new perspective," Meyer said.ELSEWHERE ON KPHO.COM: Police in Southern California shot and killed an Arizona man who fled when officers approached to see if he might be trying to set a fire.
