UPDATED: 8:42 am MST October 4, 2007

A man on crutches robbed a CVS pharmacy at gunpoint, making off with four bottles of OxyContin.

Peoria police said the man entered the store at 83rd Avenue and Thunderbird road at 6:30 a.m. last Friday and told a pharmacy employee he wanted OxyContin.

Police said the man lifted his shirt and displayed a handgun tucked into his waistband.

The employee gave the man four bottles of OxyContin in a CVS bag and the man left the store.

It's unknown how he fled the scene after leaving the store.

The robber is described as a white man with a thin build and a scruffy light brown goatee and mustache. He had a small circular bandage on the right side of his face and wore tan pants, a light colored long-sleeve T-shirt and a white baseball cap. The pharmacy worker was unsure how tall he was because he was hunched over his crutches, but said he appeared to be between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall.

Anyone with information is asked to call Peoria police at 623-773-7045 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
