POSTED: 4:21 pm MST July 11, 2007
UPDATED: 8:38 pm MST July 11, 2007

Chandler police said on Wednesday that they have positively linked a June 8 sexual assault to previous cases on Jan. 16 and 31.

Police said they believe one man has targeted five teenage girls between the ages of 12 and 14 since June, 2006.

The most recent sexual assault happened last month at the Kon Tiki Mobile Home Park. Police said a 14-year-old was assaulted in a bedroom.

The three cases since January have been connected by physical evidence discovered during the investigations, detectives said.

"We knew that it was the same person based on what the victims had told us," said Sgt. Rick Griner of the Chandler Police Department.

The previous assaults occurred:

  • 06-04-06 -- 868 South Arizona Avenue

  • 01-16-07 -- 73 South Hamilton Street

  • 01-31-07 -- 1320 North McQueen Road

  • 03-23-07 -- 1100 block of North Monte Vista Street
  • Police describe the man they're looking for as Hispanic, in his 30s and 5 feet 6 inches tall. He has a muscular build, a thin moustache and black hair.

Chandler police said they have developed and received more than 1,150 leads -- 348 since the last attack.

People with any information about the cases should contact the Chandler Police Department at 480-782-4479 or Silent Witness at 800-343-TIPS (8477).

Silent Witness offers a $25,000 reward leading to an arrest and conviction.
