UPDATED: 12:28 pm MST June 5, 2007

Glendale police are asking for help identifying the man who robbed a US Bank at gunpoint Saturday.

Witnesses told police the man entered the Safeway at 59th Avenue and Thunderbird Road around 1 p.m. and walked directly to the bank inside, where two tellers were on duty.

The man approached one of the tellers, brandished a gun and demanded money, according to police.

After the teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money, police said, the robber left the store and fled the scene in a red Ford pickup.

The robber is described as a Hispanic man in his mid-20s. He is around 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build, and was last seen wearing a tan cap, aviator-type sunglasses and a gray shirt with long sleeves.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Glendale police tip line at 623-930-3399.
